OnePlus 15 Review: What Have You Done, OnePlus? It’s Overpowered.

There’s an anime I watched in college — One Punch Man — where Saitama defeats anyone in a single punch. No suspense, no struggle. Pure domination.

Why talk about this in a smartphone review?
Because the OnePlus 15 is the Saitama of mobile phones. It’s so overpowered that even enthusiasts are calling it “too much.” Let’s break it down.

Performance: An Absolute Monster

The OnePlus 15 comes equipped with:

  • Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5
  • 16GB LPDDR5X Ultra+ RAM
  • UFS 4.1 storage
  • A dedicated Wi-Fi chip
  • A dedicated touch-response chip

Throw anything at it — games, heavy apps, multitasking — and it barely notices. OnePlus served pure performance with extra performance on top.

Design & Durability: Sleek, Minimal, and Nearly Indestructible

In my Nord 5 blog, I talked about how I disliked the busy design of the OnePlus 13.
Good news: OnePlus fixed it.

The OnePlus 15 features:

  • A clean, minimalistic design
  • A slimmer profile to OnePlus 13s
  • SuperSlim bezels with 95.5% screen-to-body ratio

But durability is the real highlight.

The MicroArcOxidation (MAO)-treated frame is:

  • 3.4× stronger than aluminum
  • 1.3× stronger than titanium

Anything softer than hardness level 8–9 won’t scratch it. The front is protected by Gorilla Glass Victus 2, and the device carries the most complete IP protection OnePlus has ever offered: IP68, IP69, and IP69K. Translation: you don't need to worry about your phone gettig damaged until and unless you are smuggling diamonds in you pocket.

Display: Fast, Smooth, and Hyper-Responsive

The OnePlus 15 brings a 1.5K flagship display with:

  • Up to 165Hz refresh rate in supported games
  • 120Hz across UI
  • Extra responsiveness thanks to the dedicated touch chip

Everything feels smoother than your fingers can keep up with.

Battery & OS: Massive Battery, Familiar Software

Despite being slimmer, the OnePlus 15 packs a huge 7300mAh Silicon NanoStack battery — the largest ever in a global flagship.

Charging features include:

  • 120W SUPERVOOC wired charging
  • 50W AIRVOOC wireless charging
  • Charger included in the box

Software remains the only compromise. OxygenOS now feels more like ColorOS, which itself resembles IOS. It’s smooth but not the OxygenOS many loved.

Camera: The One Weakness

The OnePlus 15 has:

  • Triple 50MP rear cameras
  • 32MP front camera

The photos are good, sometimes great, but they don’t match the very best flagship cameras. It’s the only area where the phone doesn’t punch above its weight. Think of it like Saitama’s ranking problem: despite being absurdly strong, he still has that one limitation holding him back to become S rank superhero.

Conclusion

If you want unmatched performance, battery life, durability, and display quality — and you’re willing to accept a slightly weaker camera — the OnePlus 15 is absolutely worth buying.
